1 Average TV HDR not bright enough

I bought it and I'm really disappointed. I have a nu6900 and this tv picture quality is no different than it. Brightness is extremely low. Stay away save your money. Samsung 8000 series is way below average now. Dont let 8000 series and samsung brand name fool you.

2 Decent TV but terrible customer service

TV has decent specs at an affordable price. But I received a defective item (dead pixels and heating problem) and the handling is terrible. It took me more than 2 hours of conversation to convince the support team about replacing the item. I shipped the item within a day upon their request, and you have to wait until they evaluate the item. Good product but try buying in other stores.

3 save money buying TU7000 ..

I have had this TV for 2 weeks Bought it from costco canada ..Good Thing about the TV is good value for money it has all the features that a 2020 TV should have ..setup is easy..volume is ok...easy to use .but .it didnt deserve a 5 star ..The reason being i bought and many others bought TU8000 just because it supports ambient mode..the major difference between the TU7000(This is cheaper) and TU8000 is only the ambient mode ..having said this i was not able to use the ambient mode i was only able to use ambient mode with the preset pictures that samsung has given ..but all i wanted to do was have my personal picture from my mobile in ambient mode ..so after reading the manual i figured it out that i have to use the smart things app to have my personal picture as an ambient mode picture ..but that option ambient mode (is greyed out i mean it doesent appear on the app at all) so i ended up calling customer care .. i was on call for 2-3 hrs calling multiple times ..Samsung customer care pushed the blame on smarthings app and when i called smart things they pushed the blame back to samsung saying if the model(TU8000) doesent have ambient mode feature at all (which is wrong because i verified from customer care and also its on Samsung website) has ambient mode it ...Whats the point in buying TU8000 if i cannot have a picture from myphone as an ambient mode picture..so the blame game between samsung and smarthings went on for few hours on call and i gave up ..They just couldn't resolve...Then i have googled a bit and realized Europe QLED and US QLEDs had the same problem last year that i am having and there were many rants like mine but at least in Europe the misery ended with an upgraded smart things app ..but in Canada the problem is Neither Samsung nor Smarthings are accepting that there is a problem with uploading personal pictures from mobile ..and iam not expecting ambient mode to work like how it works on expensive Qleds but at least why doesnt samsung clearly mention that we cannot have personal pictures as ambient mode so people like me would just buy a TU7000 ..I am going to try again after a week and if the ambient feature doesnt work iam going to return TU8000 ..If the samsung website specifications were clear it would have saved a lot of time and effort (delivery people risked their life to deliver this TV during Covid) for parties involved (myself, samsung and costco)..if samsung really cares about their customers please do resolve ...

1 No google assistant

Just bought the tv and realized it doesn't come with google assistant built-in. After speaking with support, they said it should be a compatibility issue with my cell phone which is a samsung as well.. There's nothing about it, samsung doesn't give information if it is a region limitation or whatever.. I'm just returning the tv and reconsidering the brand credibility.

4 Great features for the Price Point.

This set has great features that I wanted with my 2017 model but didn't have. This 2020 model has an ambient mode to show family pictures on the screen in different formats. Making that happen is a little frustrating and needs more compatibility with sources such as One Drive. The only sources I can find are Samsung Gallery and Samsung Cloud, which is fine as I have the new Samsung Note 20 Ultra 5G. My difficulties lay in getting pictures from my one drive to the Samsung Gallery or Samsung Cloud! I also posted a picture for those who where posting a frustration with knowing what connection this 43" TU8000 has. Overall very happy! I'll give a 5th star when you fix the photo access for Ambient Mode and give us more flexibility in customization of messages on screen such as posting captions and upcoming events. The calendar/picture feature is a good start... Yes I'm addicted to Samsung..:) I'm using this tv as my main computer monitor and also for Ambient mode. I keep my 55" beside it for my main Entertainment viewing and additional computer screen for when I'm working on my Architecture (Revit software.)

1 Trumotion should not be Mandatory

Even with all the features turned off there is still true motion happening, I didn't buy this tv to watch soap operas all day. I really love buying a smart TV then having to use my Amazon Fire Stick so I can enable Game Mode and turn off Trumotion. Nothing like a useless smart TV. Thanks Samsung. I have 4 Samsung TVs in my house. This is the last.

2 Not bright enough for HDR, stopped working in 2 mo

I bought this around the end of November, broken before mid-January. The power died completely - worked the previous night and wouldn't turn on in the morning. Visions extended warranty does nothing to help in the first year either - thought they would offer to replace it, but no...had to call Samsung, go through all the troubleshooting and then take it in to a local repair shop that was Samsung authorized. We'll see how long that takes... This is my second Samsung TV and the first one died one month after the 12-month warranty expired, so Samsung TVs have a history of being broken 100% in my experience. :( While I did have it, I found it was generally just not bright enough...my biggest complaint. Forget about HDR - this isn't even close to bright enough to demonstrate HDR. The only thing it seemed to do okay was to be used as a monitor, which is the main reason I bought this size - it makes for a very good, large 43" 4K monitor. It does support 4:4:4 chroma subsampling @ 4K @ 60 Hz and not all TVs do, so that's good...but you have to turn on the Input Signal Plus option in the settings - there's no way anybody would know about that unless they Googled it...there is a rainbow effect on the text if you don't turn this on. And the frustrating part is every time you unplug a cable and plug it back in again - those settings are all disabled so you have to remember to go back in and turn them on again. In PC mode, you can only pick Dynamic or Standard settings for some reason and you have to label the input as PC or it won't set the chroma settings properly. I found Dynamic or Standard with brightness and contrast turned up all the way and color to Warm 1, the TV was usable as a monitor and was just bright enough. It really sucks that there is no analog sound output - especially when using this as a monitor! I had to buy another optical-to-analog adapter to plug in my computer speakers. Watching video like netflix, Prime Video, using it as a PS4 display, etc...all were too dark. It was usable but if I bought this primarily as a 4K HDR TV, I would be bitterly disappointed. I also have an older Sony X900e 65" TV and that does a great job with brightness and HDR - this TV is nowhere near that level of performance. You have to get into a Q70 or better for that. In short, as a monitor - I recommend it, but as a TV I do not...unless your expectations are very low. It requires a LOT of tweaking to get it to be a bit less disappointing. It's definitely better than a TCL 4-series but it's definitely over-priced for the performance it provides. I had a $300 Hisense TV for a while and it was equivalent to this - but the retail price for the Samsung is 50% higher...for no apparent reason.
